Heroes meets Kick-Ass in this brilliant and hilarious debut about a girl who just wants to save the world...

Bremy St James, daughter of billionaire Atticus St James, has been cut off from the family fortune and is struggling to survive in a world that no longer holds its breath every time she buys a new outfit. To make matters worse, her twin sister is keeping secrets, loan sharks are circling, and the man of her dreams — a newspaper reporter — is on assignment to bring down everyone with the last name St James.

Things are certainly looking bleak for the down-and-out socialite until a good deed throws her into the path of the city’s top crime-fighter, Dark Ryder. Suddenly, Bremy has a new goal: apprentice to a superhero, and start her own crime-fighting career.

Ryder has no need for a sidekick, but it turns out the city needs Bremy’s help. Atticus St James is planning the crime of the century, and Bremy may be the only one able to get close enough to her father to stop him.

Now all she needs to do is figure out this superhero thing in less than a month, keep her identity secret from the man who could very well be The One, and save the city from total annihilation.

Well, no one ever said being a superhero would be easy...

Bremy runs away from home after finding out some scary truths. She is not sure what to do with her life, in fact she doesn’t have a plan of what to do with her new knowledge. Until she meets a superhero and decides that’s whom she wants to be. Can she become one?

The author has created a good plot in this fast-paced book, that kept me guessing and wanting more. It’s a pretty funny story that had me laughing out loud a few times. Not very believable, but I still could relate to the story. Everything is relevant, but I wish I would have more background on the characters and on the world built.

Bremy is a lovable character that I relate, connect and understand. Bremy is so real for me and I have shared some good laughs with her and her gang.

“… having my own Scooby Gang! Things were definitely looking up. Now, technically, I did still owe money to two psychopaths, and the person I loved more than anyone else in the world wasn’t speaking to me…”

This is not a particularly fresh idea, but still cool to read about. It’s not a superhero with power kind of book, more like a superhero with gadgets, sort of like Batman.

I really like this book, it was ver addictive and not easy to put down. It has a few weakeness such as a bit anti-climatic ending and not a very descriptive world built.

I only want to say “Please give me more!” I need to know the rest. I’m certain this could not be the ending of it. I totally love this genre, comics mixed with romantic comedyand this has room to become a great series.

For a debut novel, this was amazing! Bravo, Ms. Wallace!

Release Day & Giveaway: Aspen by Rebekah Crane

Happy Book Birthday to Rebekah Crane’s new YA novel, ASPEN! Check out the book and excerpt, the promotional video and the 2 fantastic giveaways below!

Title: Aspen
Author: Rebekah Crane
Genre: Contemporary,Young Adult

Publisher: In This Together Media

One quiet night in Boulder, Colorado, Aspen Yellow-Sunrise Taylor made a mistake.
In the next instant, her life changed forever.
Aspen doesn't want to remember the devastating car accident that killed Katelyn Ryan, a sleek-haired popular soccer player. But forgetting is hard-- because Katelyn may have died -- but she didn't leave. Her ghost is following Aspen around, and heading into senior year, it's kind of a problem. Especially when Katelyn's gorgeous former boyfriend Ben appears to be the only person at school with a clue as to how Aspen feels.
Popularity, college, Homecoming Court, hot guys - none of these things ever mattered to Aspen. She's been busy trying to rein in her giant mass of blonde curls, keep her stoner mother Ninny away from Toaster, her mom's awful bongo drumming boyfriend, and prevent her best friends Kim and Cass from killing - or kissing - one another. But with Ben sitting next to her in Physics looking all too gorgeous, Katelyn's spirit dogging her steps, and her obsessive snow-globe collecting therapist begging her to remember all the things she wants to forget, Aspen is thrust into a vivid, challenging world she can't control … and doesn't want to.
A darkly funny, emotionally gripping story of opening up, letting go, and moving on, ASPEN is about the best-worst accident of your life ... and what comes next.

Excerpt

I swallow hard, trying to wet my dry mouth as someone takes the seat next to me. The bell needs to ring now to save me from further conversation. I scoot my chair over, the room and all its occupants slowly closing in on me—and then my neighbor’s head of messy black hair catches my eye. My stomach drops to the floor.
"Why are you sitting next to me?" I snap.
It’s Ben Tyler. Katelyn’s Ben. His eyebrows are pulled high on his forehead, his eyes wide.
"Taylor and Tyler. I guess Mr. Salmon did the seating chart by last name." Ben says it like I'm interrogating him and he's nervous he might give me the wrong answer.
"Oh." Tingles flood my hands and I shake them out at my side. All around the room, people are looking at me. My cheeks heat with embarrassment. I’d get up and ask Mr. Salmon to change my seat, but then I’d get even more attention. People would start to wonder why I don’t want to sit next to Ben Tyler. Hotty Ben. The grieving, perfect boyfriend of the dead Katelyn Ryan. Me getting up is how rumors start. Suzy tells Olivia who tells Sophia who tells Claire that I didn’t want to sit next to Ben, and by the end of the week, everyone is talking about it.
I slink down in my seat, wishing I could disappear into the floor. “I hate eyes," I whisper to myself.
“Don’t sweat it. I get that a lot, too,” Ben whispers out of the corner of his mouth. Only one side of his face curls into a smile, like he can’t force himself to pull the other cheek any higher. I feel the same way most days.
Then it hits me. People aren’t staring at me; they’re staring at us.
“I’m sorry.” I force a two-cheek smile. “I’m an ass.”

Book Release & Review: Fall to You by Lexi Ryan

New Adult Contemporary Romance
Release June 2, 2014

FALL TO YOU will be on special at $2.99 on release week only, then the price will increase to $3.99.

Also, LOST IN ME will be .99 cents for the duration of the June release and tour. For anyone who hasn't started the series yet, this is a great chance to start if interested in FALL TO YOU.

About This Book

Fall to You is the second book in the Here and Now series. It is not a stand-alone and is intended to be read following Lost in Me. Hanna’s story concludes in book three, All for This.

Torn between two men…

When I woke up after the accident, I couldn’t remember anything from the last year—including my relationship with Max Hallowell or anything about Nate Crane. Now my memories are returning, but instead of answering my questions, they’re leaving me with more.

The man who broke my heart and wants to be my future…

Max is all I ever wanted, and now he wants to marry me. He’ll do everything he can to fill my life with love, family, and security. I need those things now more than ever. But can I trust him?

The man who stole my heart and wants to let me go…

Nate never made me promises, and I never asked him to. I’d been on the rebound, looking for a distraction, and he made me feel beautiful and wanted when I needed to feel those things most. He says he has to let me go, but what if I can’t let go of him?

With every revelation and every passing day, I feel more like Alice down the rabbit hole. I’m falling. Who will catch me?

Title:Lost In Me & Fall to You
Series: Here and Now series book 1 & 2
Author: Lexi Ryan
Genre: Contemporary Romance, New Adult, Romantic Mystery
Heat: 4 stars
Source: ARC provided by AtoMr Promotions in exchange of an honest review

Hanna wakes in the hospital without memories of her last eleven months. It seems like she has the life she has always dreamed of, but doesn't know how she has acquired. Will the price be too steep? Will it be worth it?
Max has screwed up before. Does he deserves a second chance?
Nate is running away. He got issues of his own. Does he deserve her?

Ms. Ryan has created a great plot. It's different and well written. This is a fast-paced read, that keeps you guessing until the end. The story has so many twists that you never know what is coming next. This story is so believable, that you immerse yourself in it and becomes best friends with Hanna and her sisters. The intensity built is perfect and I gave some good laughs with the characters. A good surprise is the book deals with several deep issues in a cool way. You don't feel drowned in sadness, but the issues are there. My one tiny problem with the book is the ending. There is a major cliffhanger in it and no feeling of ending whatsoever. I have read 2 books of the series and I still have a lot of questions.

These books are hot! There are some great scenes and the description is perfect. The love triangle is great and both guys are tall, dark, and hot.

Ms. Ryan's creativity has no bounds and she masterfully has created a unique plot that grabs the readers without drowning them. I have enjoyed immensely book 2 written style with 3 POV. It make me closer to the characters and it helped me understand them better.
These characters are so well created that I love them all. I have connected, related and understood them and I have no idea who I want Hanna to pick.

I have decided to post the review of both books together because I feel they are so connected, so intertwined that I would end up repeating myself or spoiling the readers if I tried to write two different reviews.

I can't wait for book 3 and I'm definitely going to pick up other books by Ms. Ryan.

About the Author

Once a college English professor, I now write full time. I live in rural Indiana, where, when I'm not writing, I get to hang out with my husband and two kids--a six-year-old boy and a two-year-old hellion, er, girl. Not surprisingly, reading and writing remain my favorite activities, though both come in bits and pieces these days, not the big hunks of time I enjoyed before I had children. When I'm feeling virtuous, I like to go running (I use that word liberally. I'm really, really slow) or do yoga. Don't worry, I'm always careful to balance out such activities with a hearty serving of ice cream or a chocolate martini.
